[Opinions] Re: Which celebrity baby names bore you the most (more)?
I mainly judge them the same way I would for non-celebs - whether I happen to like the names or not.I see what you mean about how they become boring. Trying hard to be spicy - in the exact same way everyone else is doing, so you know they'll approve! So, ta-da, spicy == bland. The celebrity surname ones probably bore me the most. Bowie, Monroe, Lennon, Hendrix and the like.
And the sorta "stupid" or childish ones like Pepper and Sonny and Buddy and Blue and Honey. Or Coco, for godsake. I dislike that style.
I guess Bear is like that too. I'm just more tolerant of Bear because there was a guy called Bear at my high school, and so I have this persistent illusion that it's kinda normal.I dislike Winter and Ever but they just seem like typical hipster names, not especially celebby.I don't mind a lot of them. Honor, Dove, Rebel, Rio, Bodhi, Sunny, they're not faves of mine but I "get" the style of them more. It seems very California-ish. I've met a Rebel (in Texas) and a Bodhi (in California). Long time ago.I'm feeling a little bit creeped out lately by the rise of mythology names like Atlas and Apollo. They're okay, it's just ... weird.I like River.- mirfak

I like Atlas and Apollo way better than some of the others. But I am really into mythology names. Persephone is a favorite of mine.To me the cutesy nickname names are the worst. Even though Honey is a GP of mine, but I wouldn't use it.I like River too.

Why is the rise of mythology names weird to you?'

I don't know exactly but I guess it's because they are from actual religions? And to us they are just Hollywood superhero-fantasy names, and that's weird. Not weird when I meet a kid, but the trend overall.

I like a lot of the names individually, but the trend also bugs me...I kind of get a sinister goofy vibe from the trend. I feel like they're popular because of Percy Jackson, The Avengers, Superwoman, etc, and it's superficial/off-putting.
