Pamela is in a category of names that is really growing on me - antique invented literature names. Like Vanessa, Camilla, Ophelia, Perdita, etc. I used to find it quite dull but I am starting to warm up to it, especially as a middle name. It is rather dated - I only knew a single Pam my age growing up, it always seemed like a "mom name" to me (which means it's now a "grandma name").There's something friendly and also elegant about it; it's approachable but also smooth and lovely. When I remember it was popular among aristocrats for their daughters in the 30s, that gives it a it more charm, a bit more sleekness.

It's for sure a "mom" name to me. It's fine, but definitely makes me think of a woman in her 40s-60s.

It's ok

I've never been the biggest fan of this name, anyway. And it feels rather dated right now. I think I could possibly warm up to it if it was used in full only, with no nickname. But every Pamela I've ever known goes by Pam. That would be a deal breaker for me.

Same! All went by Pam

I like it, but unfortunately, I still see it as very dated. The nickname Pam is especially dated; however, the nickname Ella is very on trend.I can see why it was super popular in the past. It sounds romantic and down to earth at the same time. The meaning "bee" is cute and industrious.

I have an aunt with this name. It's too old for me though, like Jennifer and Beverly are. I can't see girls named Pamela unless they are named after families.

Love it.

It's a very pretty name, very feminine and very down to earth at the same time. Only think I don't like is the nn Pam.
