I dislike the blocked-drain sound of Gw- , and that eliminates Gwyneth as well. I'd rather just use Wendy.

At gunpoint, however, I'd use Gwendolen, which makes my preferred pronunciation clear. At sight, Gwendoline could rhyme with Caroline or Josephine, and Gwendolyn, Marilyn etc are dated.
