[Opinions] Cherry
I’ve really been digging Cherry lately. What could it be a nickname for? I’m okay with distant connections / slight stretches. I don’t like Cherish, Charity, Cheryl, Charlene…I suppose Charlotte would be okay, but a bit far off. Anything else you can think of?
Please rate my lists. All of them are ratable except for the Main list and the Surname list. :)

I thought it was a NN for Charity. It's also kind of one of those OTT lovely names that might as well be NN for anything, like Sunshine or Blossom.
But I think it's better as a full name than as a NN for something like Cheryl or Charity, the same way Lily would be better than Elizabeth "Lily" imo.

I think Cherry could work as a stand alone. I’m not really a fan, but it could work.
Ewww no.
Cherry blossoms are some of my favorite flowers, so ofc I love it!
Cherry is cute!
There's always Cheri/Cherie..... Cherie is a GP of mine. It's so OTT sexy French.
Cherry also strikes me as the kind of nickname that could work for anything, like Sunny. Like it could be describing how sweet someone is, or how rosy their cheeks are, or if they have red hair, or if they just really like cherries.

I don't think Cherry is a nickname. It's a full name to me, meaning a kind of tree, flower, or fruit (flower is the best IMO).
There aren't any names I like, either, that would be good full names for it - all the good ones have a SH sound and would become Sherry. Maybe Cherith? But I think that's said with a K sound.
The only other thing I can think of is Sakura nn Cherry. It could happen ?

I love Sakura too; it could definitely work. :)
I think Cherry could be a sweet nickname for any name. As in parents call their kids "Pumpkin" or "Sweetie" even if their name is Anna or Luke. Cherry is a sweet treat!
I also know a few women named Cherry as a full name, and one little girl called Maila Cherry after her grandmother Cherry.
I like the idea of Cherry being a middle name Next to a more formal first.
Laura Cherry "Cherry"
Elizabeth Cherry "Cherry"
Helen Cherry "Cherry"
Rebecca Cherry "Cherry"
Charlotte Cherry "Cherry"
Susanna Cherry "Cherry"
Ruth Cherry "Cherry"
Etc etc

I’ve loved Cherry ever since I first heard it in the movie “The Outsiders”. And then I heard it again in “Planet Terror” and I loved it even more.
Charlotte could probably work.
