Doesn't work for me. "alt" is German for "old" so I think "old moon". I know in Latin it means "high, elevated moon"? I guess. So that is nice. But Altaluna is a bit long and clumsy. And she will probably get called Luna anyway.

Old moon is nice too though.

It's very High Fantasy. I like it.

Oooh, it’s really pretty. Alta and Luna sound like separate names, though. Like it doesn’t quite flow. Maybe Altaluina for an extra syllable or something like that. Or Alta with Luna as a middle name

I was actually thinking of Alta today. I like the idea of it as a compound name. Altaluna is neat, and I know it's a historic name, but it sounds a bit like a product to me. Altagracia is cool, too, but I don't like Grace in English. Here are some other I thought of..Altalucinda
Altavera
Altavioleta
Altaviola
Altamira
Altamiranda
Altalisa
Altaria
Altamarina
Altalucia
Altavespera
AltameridaI think it reminds me of a town name.

It's the second middle name of my fancy alter ego, Octavia Anna Altaluna.I love it, it's mine, and you can't have it.
