[Opinions] Sapphire (m)
What do you think of this name?Love it. One of my favourite gemstone names, along with Emerald, Amber and Crystal. Its sound is pretty and it's beautiful written too.Should it enter the top 1000 names in the United States?Sounds like a name Americans would like, in the style of Diamond, Juniper, Liliana, Marlowe, Scarlett...What nicknames would you use?Saphi? Phia? It's hard to find a nickname. What middle names would you use?Sapphire Aster
Sapphire Daphne
Sapphire Elle
Sapphire Margaret
Sapphire RiverWhat do you think of the variant Sapphira?I like it as well, it's cute and unique. I also think it should be popular.

I really like Sapphire, largely because sapphire is my favourite gem stone, and I like gem stones in general. I also really like the sound.
I think it may get more attention in the US since it seems like gem stone names are liked right now, as are word names in general, sapphire has very rich symbolic meaning which I suppose would be a plus for many parents, and also it sounds like Sophia which is very popular.
I like your idea of Sapphire Elle most, when it comes to a middle name.
As for nicknames, yes, Saphi is nice, I also think that while Sophie would be a bit of a stretch perhaps, it could work for some people. I would also use Fifi.
I think I prefer the spelling Safira over Sapphira but both are amazing, and I think I prefer Safira even over Sapphire.

I like it. The variant Sapphira makes it more wearable/usable while maintaining the look of Sapphire and avoiding the pronunciation struggles that seem inherent in Saffira. I don't think just anyone could pull it off, though, and would thus be hesitant about using it as a baby name. Maybe it's best as a middle name?

Sounds like a name Americans would like? I am not sure about that, but I met a Sapphire. She is my daughter's age.
It took a while for me to get used to using the name when speaking to her, and it never quite seemed to fit. A couple people call her Saph. I do really like Saffira or Sapphira though. Maybe it seems more complete. Fira is a really cool nickname too. Nicknames, depending on how bold you want to get:
Sapphire Gale
Sapphire Epiphany
Sapphire Zenaide
Sapphire Louise
Sapphire Hanna
Sapphire Willow
Sapphire Therese
Sapphire Eloise
Sapphire Brielle
