Alana is cute and simple but not boring. Alannah is not bad, though I think it's too elaborated. Alanna is halfway between simple and elaborated. I don't really like double n's (although Annabelle, Arianna and Jennifer are exceptions).
I pronounce Alana, Alanna and Alannah like ah-LAH-na.
I don't find them dated.
