I like it. I know three Aristotles, all Greek/Greek-American of course, and ranging in age from 4 to 90-something.

I like Aristotle. The meaning is interesting, and the nickname Ari would be cute. I wouldn't use it on a child since it is so tied to one distinct individual, but it would be a nice name for a pet bird.

My son's middle name is Pythagoras, so I'm not allowed to say it's too much, am I? ;-) I don't mind Aristotle, but I prefer Aristoteles. In fact I really like Aristoteles.

Definitely my favourite Ancient Greek philosopher; unfortunately I can't rid myself of the image of Jackie Kennedy towering over Aristotle Onassis, her second husband and even wealthier than her first! Ari or Aris would be OK as nns, but the rest of the word sounds like 'total' and I don't enjoy Harry, Barry etc so Ari / Aristotle doesn't appeal to me for one.

My dissertation advisor's name is Aristóteles, which I think is pretty epic. I was very excited to see that name! Everyone calls him Aris. I like Aristotle (and Aristóteles) quite a bit.
