I remember thinking this was a very old and ugly name when I was young, but I can appreciate it now. I do prefer Yvette which seems a bit brighter, but I rather like Yvonne's practical, slightly disapproving somberness now.
I think it's just dated enough to be useable again. Evonne seems a bit more youthful and trendy-looking.
Yvonne-like names (in terms of energy, for me): Donna, Darlene, Moira, Helen, Laverne, Beverly, Joyce, Joanne, Wanda, Maryvonne, Connie, Dionne, Leona, Ronnie, Winona.
