I went to get groceries and a child (m) was being called McMaster. Thought I'd share.

McMaster is not an uncommon surname. Family name maybe?

You know it's probably a nickname, it sounds like an inside joke.

I hope it's an informal nickname like baby boy or honey bunny. I hope his real name is McKenzie. Or McCaulay. Or anything else. McMaster sounds like a shop where you can print stuff.
