Watching a youtube video and one of the people in it is named Jakota... My first thought is it's a variant of Dakota but who knows. He appears early 20s and is Canadian.

Was it a long O sound or a short O sound? It could be a variant of Jacquetta if the latter. Otherwise it reminds me of Jagoda, it gives me Easter European vibes. But you’re right, it’s probably a Dakota variant. I don’t have much of an opinion beyond that!

o as in coat. Dakota with a J. The bearer is a guy so I think Dakota is closer than Jacquetta.

Sorry, but it sounds like an evil nickname for someone named Dakota, as in jerk + Dakota= Jakota.
