I’m reading a book that has a girl named Gedanken. Google says it means “thoughts” in German.

Immediately thought it sounded like a German word, because of the 'danke' bit. I don't like the sound very much, so I'm not a fan.

Maybe it sounds better in German but I know when I say it, it sounds super ugly. ged-ayn-ken - lots of ugly sounds.
