I think the better of the bunch is Maroon and Serenade. I can see them working if they were used by a non-English speaking alien who just likes the sound.
As for nicknames:
Sera; Ada; Jade for Serenade
Clev is all I think of for Clever. I hate it, but I can see it happening. Same with Never and Nev.
Roonie; Mar; Noonoo for Maroon
