I think it's a lovely name, and have it on my own list, but spelt Catarina or Caterina, which both honour my heritage. I'm not usually a fan of K names but I don't mind Katarina.

Katherina (kath-ə-REE-nə) is okay, but I prefer Katarina, Katerina, Caterina & Catarina, in that order.

My friend and I discussed this name yesterday.
We both prefer Katarina (Katrin is even better), even though Katerina is more conventional in our area. And I'd pronounce Katherina like Katherine with A.

Katherine with an -a, certainly. I'd use Katharina, except I wouldn't - it seems unnecessary in English, and the name is long enough alreadyI'd use Katharine IRL, or possibly Catherine, but in view of its and its variants' popularity, only as a mn. If pushed, I'd currently consider Katrina or Catriona.

I don't like how it looks, if I wanted the same sound, I'd spell it Katharina. I'd pronounce it ka-thə-REE-nə. My favourite spelling overall is Caterina, but I pronounce it differently to Katherina: ca-ta-REE-na.

Hmm for this variant I do actually think I prefer the K but with the spelling Katerina, the only problem being that everyone would call them Katrina. I would pronounce it cath-er-Rin-ah, for Katharina I would more inclined to pronounce it ca-tha-rin-ah.

I love Caterina, the other spellings are odd to me, at that point I prefer Katherine or Catherine.
