[Opinions] Sloane
Does anybody here actually like this name? I just find it so slimy sounding.I used to say it as SLAWN, but after watching Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, I noticed they said it as SLOWN. I liked it a little better, but it still doesn’t sound good. What do you guys think of Sloane? What would you pair it with?_______________________________________________________

I like it, but its more masculine to me. It sounds like slain, and it doesn't work well with other names.. I have to work hard on combos.Avery Sloane, Sloane Maximilian, Maximilian Sloane, Michael Sloane, Sloane Fantasia, Fantasia Sloane, Amelia Sloane, Sloane Augustus, Jacob Sloane, Maria Sloane, Sloane Maria, Michaelis Sloane, George Sloane, Georgia Sloane, Renaldo Sloane, ETC.My best here are Amelia Sloane, Jacob Sloane, Sloane Maria, Michaelis Sloane, George Sloane, and Avery Sloane.I also like it spelt as Sloan. The S isn't that pleasant, but I don't think its slimy! I've never heard any name get called slimy before. There's a first time for everything. I think that Sloane sounds mysterious, diligent and intelligent. *shrugs*

I dislike it, the sound is just so off putting. I met a mom with a baby named it once & had to pretend to like it to avoid being rude. One of my most disappointing moments of asking moms their baby's name but not necessarily the worst.

It is slimy! Someone here described it as beautiful like seal skin once, so if I reach for a neutral/positive association it reminds me of selkies. The meaning's so off-putting, though, plus stylewise it's too much like Slade and Rhett and not enough like Siofra and Lorelei.Sloane Valkyrie

Slimy, drab, pessimistic, uhh ugly... uncute. I've always heard it Slown. If I had to use Sloane, I'd just pair it with a nice name. Sloane Mary. lol

I hate Sloane, it's so ugly. I hate the sound and I hate the look. It makes me shudder. I don't know how anyone could like or use it. I don't know any name that's uglier. I would pair it with disappearing off the face of the earth.

I actually kind of like it, but I don’t think I would have the guts to use it.
