Filbert! That sounds like a (comically old-fashioned English/German) cartoon to me, but I can see the appeal. The meaning is nice, and I like the similar sounding Philip and Gilbert, plus the probable namesake in this usage.
Bukar, Oumar, Eliud, Tadesse, Babajide, Zuri, Hlengiwe, Subira, Oluchi, and Ngozi seem likable to me.
Oyibo sounds good to me, but seems like it could be awkward as a name. Is it like calling someone Caucasian, or is it used in a more abstract way?
I think Yakubu and Yared sound better than Jacob and Jared do.
My favorite African name is probably Etenesh. Taiwo and Yewande have stood out to me recently as well.

I love Zuri. I wouldn’t use it, but I totally have the idea of using it for a character.
