I stand by my comment. There is a growing issue in historical re-enactment circles of white supremacists trying to hook into Viking / Norse imagery and mythology to justify their beliefs. We've had to kick people out of my society for it, and there are numerous other accounts if you look them up. Likewise, Norse Pagan circles have a very fraught history with white supremacism.

If someone with no other connection to Scandinavia uses a very Scandinavian name, I'm going to look at them askance until I see that they're safe to be around.
