It's for me Jesus. Jezus is the way the Dutch spell it and it's said as YAY-zəs. I don't like it as a given name at all. I'd hate to see it used even more if it's not pronounced correctly.

I’m going to make one blanket statement about all names based on the names of deities around the world. Unless your culture -YOURS- has a long history of using it as a given name, it is disrespectful. No Jezus, no Jesusa, no Vishnu, no Ganesh, no Allah, etc. I’m getting suspicious that every few days we’re going to be seeing more and more incendiary questions along these lines and I’m just going to get my opinion out of the way now so I can stay out of the arguments. On a completely unrelated note, when does school start back up again?

For my district, it's January 2, 2022. That was pretty funny, it made me laugh. Merry day after Christmas.

People who want to swear but aren't quite up to saying or writing 'Jesus!' tend to use 'Jeez' instead. That is what Jezus makes me think of. As a name given in all seriousness to a living child that one intends to love, it's hopelessly inappropriate.

It is exclusively used to refer to Jesus Christ.

Hate it.
It's right up there with the stupid idea of naming a kid Jesus.
Big old no.
