[Opinions] Desmond
What does everyone think of Desmond? After watching LOST last night, I'm strangely in love with it, especially the nickname Des!

I like it, though not due to Lost (I've never watched it). I like it because of the jazz musician, Paul Desmond. We played some stuff by him in jazz band this year.

I've liked it for a while. I've never actually met a Desmond. It's one of those not too weird but not too common names.

I like it. It's mature and debonair.

Well, I don't watch lost, but I see what you mean about the name. I'd never use it, though.

Yes!This is my second favorite name for a boy. My mother's cousin is Desmond, nn Des. I grew up loving the name. I've never seen "Lost," but if it popularizes this name, then great!

I love the name Desmond! It's one of my favorite names and I think that it has a sharp, strong sound.

There was just a post about Desmond because of Lost on babynames.com this morning! So, Desmond is a fine name, but with two different posts by different people the same day because of that show, there's a good chance it will take a big jump upwards in use in the USA this year. I'm sure you two aren't the only ones noticing the name on that program. :)

It's been one of my top names for a few years. It's perfect. Desmond is uncommon, easy to pronounce, and masculine. I think it's the only name that I have consistently loved and never get tired of. I was kind of pissed when I was watching LOST last fall because I hated that a character on a mainstream show might make it trendy/more popular. But I've made my peace with that it. lol
