Calliope has a beautiful meaning. I don't think a stressed syllable 'lie' is a good choice, but people would be likely to guess 'cal-ee-OH-pee' so it probably wouldn't matter. And I vaguely remember an American poem about a calliope, pronounced Call-yohp, which was a very noisy fairground ride.
