[Opinions] Vaila / Vale
I had a dream last night where I had a daughter named Vale. And it got me thinking
A similar, more feminine version, is Vaila. VAY-LA
It's a submitted name: "Taken from the name of a small island off the Shetland Islands, Scotland. It is a traditional Shetlandic girls' name."
What do you think of the names Vale & Vaila?

Don't like either
I like both
Vale as a personal (feminine) name makes me think of Vicky Vale from Batman, played by Kim Basinger (though that was her surname). I don't know if I would call that a positive or negative association.
I kind of like the sound, but it also makes me think of "veil," which isn't something I would want to name a child.
Vaila is interesting, but looks like an unrelated name in a totally different language.

Nothing I'd use, but I think Vale would make a god unisex name. And I prefer Vayla over Vaila.
Vale reminds me of the Vale of No Return, or Valley Without Return — a mythical site from Arthurian legend
and
Vaila — of Vila, a mythical creature, similar to a nymph.
So, both seem feminine and mystical, but they are too 'word-y' and 'insubstantial' for my liking.
