[Opinions] Frieda
What do you think of it? I dislike Frida immensely, but Frieda (FREE-dah, naturally) has always appealed to me. It's a family name.
Whatever thoughts on the name, positive or negative, pop into your head, I'd love to hear.

I don't mind it, actually. It's the name of a wonderful Swedish girl in my choir (Frideborg, nn Fride, but I hate Frideborg and the Fride spelling). It's nothing I'd ever use, but I'd like it on someone else's kid.
Freda, spelled like that, was my mother's name, so of course I love it. Not a family name, she was named for a girlhood friend of my Grandmother's.
I have two Aunt Freda's so I've grown up with the name. But I must say I've always liked it. It always reminded me of the word "freedom."
I don't particularly like the Frida spelling either. But I worry about Frieda and Freda getting mispronounced ("FRY-da" and "FRED-a.") Hopefully, I'm just being overly concerned.
I also love "freh-DREE-ka," with Frieda / Freda as a nn. But I'm never sure how I would spell the formal name. Fredrika? Fredricka? Frederica? Any thoughts?

I like the name, in theory, but none of the spellings look "right" imo. Frida is too Frida Kahlo, which isn't bad, but it's just very connected with her. And at first glance, I want to say FRIDD-ah. :b Freda is nice, but looks like FREDD-ah. And Frieda makes me think of the word "fried". :-/ But if Frieda is the way your family member spelled it, and you like it, it is a great name. ANd I think most people could get over the "fried" thing. LOL.

I really don't know why but its always struck me as a masculine sounding name. I don't know why and if I really think about its quite nice and has a really good sound to it.
I think it's quite pretty. I thought Frida was pronounced the same way though, or do you just dislike that because of the spelling? I also like Freda.

I will dub my first child Alexander. If you want to know what will occur if my first child is a girl, I will tell you. He will not be a girl.

They're pronunced the same way...
But I just dislike the spellings Frida and Freda. They don't look complete to me, and I want to pronunce them FRIH-duh and FRED-duh. :/
