[Opinions] Zeudi
So the new Miss Italy is named Zeudi. The name is Tigri and she doesn’t seem to have any connection to that part of the world, though there was an Erythrean Italian actress by the name in the 1970s.Thoughts on the name? On the name for people who have no connection to Tigri culture?“And I wish there was a treaty we could sign
I do not care who takes this bloody hill
I'm angry and I'm tired all the time
I wish there was a treaty,
I wish there was a treaty
Between your love and mine”

I've never heard of it before but I don't think I like it. I'm not a believer in "you can only use a name if you have a connection" kind either. (My mom gave me a French name without any knowledge of a French connection. Now, after researching my family history, I do have French ancestry but I feel like if I go to France, they won't believe me.)

Where I stand on cultural appropriation all boils down to the question of whether people from my culture ever tried to oppress, enslave or wipe out people from their culture. I’m not necessarily talking about a mutual, well-matched war, even though that’s still a little strange. If you’re wondering if that means I’d be weirded out by an English person with no Irish heritage using an Irish name, the answer is yes. However, when the people are of the same race and geographically close the lines are fuzzier, fewer questions are asked and different assumptions are made.

It's way too far from my own language, that I can't determine whether I like it or not.
