[Opinions] Re: Isadore for a boy
in reply to a message by Guest
I like it. I don't really have a preference between Isadore and Isidore. I definitely used to think it was a girl name (I knew there was Isadore and Isadora, but I assumed it was like Isabel and Isabella where both are feminine) and I still like it on a girl, maybe more as a GP. I think Isadore is more likely to be mistaken for a girl name than Isidore (probably because of Isabella and similar names).I can't think of a good nickname though, and Isadore would be too long for a kid's first name with no nickname. Izzy/Isi/etc. is girly, Dor sounds like the word door, Dory/Dorie is dorky and also kind of girly... Maybe Iso (could be like EE-so or Izzo). Isad or Isid sounds interesting, but it's awkward because it sounds so much like "is it" and that's such a common pair of nothing words that shows up in sentences all the time.
