When people go by their initials, here in South Africa, they don't use full stops or hyphens; just the letters, without a space.
Another spelling I prefer is 'you'. We try to avoid the kind of spelling shortcuts familiar from social media, because many people on this site are not first-language speakers of English and we try not to confuse them or make them feel left out.
