update: thanks a lot for all your suggestions! i'm keeping Flora, even though I don't love it, because she actually responds to her name, though not always. she was probably too stressed to do so, but i brought her home today and Flora is pretty much all she responds to. she's not house-trained, so i'm not changing her name because she jas a lot to learn already (also, any tips for a first time dog parent are very much appreciated hahaha)
