I actually like it - along with several other Basque names (in particular Maialen). There's a similar Spanish name, Nuria, that I like even more.
Mia and Nerea are two names I never would've thought to compare, but of the two, I prefer Nerea by miles. I cannot separate Mia from "my" in a language I've familiar with (Italian), so it has never felt like a person's name to me, despite being so popular.
