Even though just about every Courtney (or another spelling variant) I've met has actually been a chill person, the name itself has always given a "mean girl" impression. Mad HBIC energy, basically. I think it's the "court" element that does it. Too cold for me.And that's all as a feminine name. Even though it was historically masculine, I absolutely cannot imagine a little boy today named Courtney.

I like it equally for both genders. However, it does sound rather cold and stern. It must be the "court" in it.

It's very 90s to me, I grew up with a few. Which means it's retro cool now I suppose, yikes. It's preppy, makes me think of plaid skirts.

Courtney? I guess it’s okay. Just really boring. For a girl I would pair it with something really feminine but cool because Courtney is kinda masculine. Courtney Arabella, Courtney Annelise, Courtney Mirabelle, something like that.

Courtney Walsh. One of the greatest fast bowlers of all time; his almost equally fearsome bowling partner was Curtly Ambrose. Interesting that two men with such similar fns should play for the same team (West Indies) in the same capacity. Not a name I'd use - a one-owner name IMO, rather like Elvis.
