[Opinions] Karlie
What are your thoughts on Karlie? For some reason it looks less dated to me than Carly as I group it more with Ellie and Maisie or Elsie than with Courtney or Casey.Which spelling would you pick in general? Please rate my list: https://www.behindthename.com/pnl/6232

I do not like it, especially spelled Karlie. Carly to me, teeters on the border between Elsie type names and Madison type names. It is a legitimate nickname, but it's so often been spelled creatively that it can't have the same feel that something like Ellie has. Karlie, on the other hand, is totally an older sister to Paisleigh and a younger sister to Ashli. I don't like any of version of Carly. However, I do love Callie, which is to me seems analogous to Janie or Eliza, but which most people seem to think belongs more in the Kayley, Kinsley group.

I don't associate any spelling with names like Ellie, Maisie and Elsie; those names might be popular or getting there, but they still feel very old-ladyish and/or doglike to me
I prefer Carly, Carlee or Karlee. The Karlie spelling just doesn't appeal and the ie ending isn't usually the one I am drawn to for ee-sound ending names.
Carly/Carlee/Karlee is in my top ten.

I actually like the name Karlie. I know a little girl that "Lil" goes to school with that goes by Carly as a NN. Her actual name is Trinity, but her parents and close friends and family call her Carly because she looks a lot like the girl that plays Carly on the USA TV show I-Carly. It's not really dated where I live, which is the state of Virginia in the USA. But I guess it might be dated in other areas of the world. I also like the name Karla/Carla too.I like these spellings.Karly
Karlie
CarlyI even like Karleigh as a Guilty Pleasure name.
