I'm really liking this name at the moment. So French-chic and so many cute nickname options.

Nicole is dated to me and is infamously a "middle name" name (along with Lynn, Rose, Denise, Grace, Ann etc.) Nicolette is refined and charming.

Thoughts on Nicolette?

Not a fan. It is better than just plain old Nicole though.

It's gorgeous, Its very sharp and rolls off the tongue. Though the French pronunciation is fantastic, I find the American pronunciation is very lacking.

I knew a very nice one, but it's long and shortens to Letty. Though the Nicolette I knew was never called anything else. I think I prefer Nicola, but also only if it doesn't get shortened.

I don't like ette names in general, and Nicolette is as dated as Nicole, only less popular. It also reminds me of Nicorette gum that people chew to stop smoking.

Ehh, if Nicolette is dated then so is Colette. And Colette definitely isn't dated.

Nicole on the other hand definitely is, it is extremely 70s/80s.

Nicolette and Colette's levels of datedness are not a 1:1 relation.
