It's a great name! Go with Reed if want a nature vibe but either is fine. It's short, strong, recognizable and not overused.

I like both, but prefer Reid more.

I prefer Reid to Reed even though both are last names. Reid reminds me less of a plant.

Generally speaking, I dislike surname names, and Reed is no exception. I prefer the Reid spelling.
