[Opinions] Re: Kimberly

What puzzles me is the spelling. Same with Beverly. Makes them look like adverbs - he dresses really Beverly, but his sister sings quite Kimberly in the choir. In UK English, and also here in South Africa so far, they are Kimberley and Beverley. And, in South Africa, Kimberley is a town where diamonds were first mined. Now, it's a small, dusty country town with not much going for it.
I don't like Beverl(e)y or the nn Bev; both seem stodgy. Kim isn't a favourite, but it's better than Kimberl(e)y.
I knew a woman named Kimbrian, pronounced like Kim + Brian. She hates it with a passion and always goes by Kim. Her father found the name in a book he was reading, and really loved it; so far he's the only one who even likes it even slightly.
