Wouldn't it be more subtle, and more alarming, to name your demon a very non-demonic name? Something like Simon Baxter? Harmless, suburban, human?

Agree with Anneza. Baxter is a great suggestion. Warm, but the X is sort of sinister. It also makes me sad because I love Simon and it's such a "nice" name, but there's the rub! :)

Wow, I hadn’t considered that before… I think that would actually work really well in my story. Thanks! I really like Simon, I saw that it means “he has heard”, which I realize is biblical, but also makes me think of a demon eavesdropping from the shadows (or something like that). Thank you so much!
