I'm a big no on this one. It's awkward. I agree, stick with Nathaniel/Nathanael, Jonathan or Nathan. Ethan/Eitan/Eytan might also be up your alley.

I love Elnathan when pronounced Elna-thin (like Jonathan, but with a quick 'L' in front). The other one I've heard is Elle-Nathan, which just sounds weird to me.

I'm all about more obscure Biblical names, but I definitely prefer Jonathan in this instance. To me Elnathan sounds like an awkward elaboration of Nathan, even though I know it's not.
