Well, Bogumila might look pretentious and sound ugly to modern ears, I guess. (Btw, in Polish it sounds milder and smoother, imo).
When I was younger, I was interested in names like Bozhena, Bożena, Bazhana, Bożana, etc; Bogumila seemed memorable to me, like a name of a princess from a fantasy novel, which is unusable irl, but it still gets your attention: not pretty, but noteworthy.
