Indeed, bog isn't a word in Polish -
Bogumiła comes from "Bóg", which means God.
I'd say that rather than being an equivalent to naming a daughter in an English country
Lavinia, it would be the equivalent to naming her
Sharon or
Deborah. Something recognisable, but the polar opposite of fashion forward.
