Makes me think of someone being coy.

It terms of sound and meaning it’s mediocre but I met someone who was really rude with this name so I will not be using it for anything lol

Nope, not a fan. Can't disassociate it with the word.Go with Roy.

Eh, I’m not really a fan of it. I prefer Roy, personally.

Rather dreadful, would expect a slew of siblings called Shy, Bold, and Brash or something equally silly. Then, of course, there is the audio association. Without seeing it spelled out, the instant go to is koi, fat, mostly pointless goldfish.

It's not my taste, but it's okay.

I find it to be very solemn and humble. So it’s weird without being too weird. I think it can work as a first or middle name on a boy, as long as he has something long and handsome to go with it. But I think it’s okay, actually. Coy Michael
Coy Nicholas
Coy Octavian
Coy William
Coy Aristotle
Coy Oliver
Coy Theodore
Coy Vivien Same thing vice versa.

Not so much a name as a personal quality. I dislike it intensely for any or no gender.
