I like it. I do think about soup though.

I actually knew a kid from high school named this and it wasn't his surname, it was his actual given name. Very unusual.
I think it's ok, but I far prefer it as a surname, or at least as a middle. I actually did use it as a middle name of one of my main characters, named after his mother's maiden name. For that instance, I think it works quite well.

I’m not a fan of this name due to its sound. The soup is good, though.

Hate it. It just makes me think of soup. Plus it doesn’t even sound like a boys name. The -bell part seems too feminine.

Not good at all. No respectable nns (Camp? Camp Bell?) and unless it's a family name in which case it'd be fine as a mn, there are so many names with fewer issues that I'd be surprised to meet one.ETA: my associations with a family, ln Campbell, are not the best, and this might be affecting my opinion, but I don't really think so. I don't like most lnfns, and this isn't an attractive one.

This would be awful for a fn. What nn would be used?

Not a fan. A generic surname turned into a first name. It seems on point with current trends but as a name feels rather pointless without some major familial or personal tie-in.
