[Opinions] Re: Jaynelia
in reply to a message by Matthew 05
Presumably a merger between Jane, or Jayne, and Cornelia. Jane is quietly lovely and Cornelia is a bit fussy for me but certainly a good name. But both of them do much better as stand-alones. I really cannot warm up to Jaynelia at all. I know someone who named her daughter Nelia; Cornelia was a family name but that person was always known as Nelia. I liked it, rather to my own surprise! Less is more, perhaps? And Jaynelia is too much more.

Cornelia is a tricky one. I’m currently in the position of trying to work it into my third child’s name (after my recently departed grandma). It’s not a name that naturally has much appeal to me and one of my other children already has an “-elia” name, so I’m looking for some creative solutions like this. But perhaps I should create a new thread...
