If I met a Renesmee I would think that is a little silly. I like a few made up names too but this one is so obviously Twilight & any negative associations tied to the franchise there is no tiptoeing around it as you grow up. Bella at least has several other pop culture connections to it. If a good friend of mine wanted to use this name I'd strongly encourage Renee Esme. Or Esme Renee, instead.
I'm not a fan of this name at all because of the way it sounds.
I actually think it sounds quite lovely, despite where it originated. It's far better than the name, Esme, in my opinion.
The visual aspect of it isn't the best (too many e's) but I have no idea of any alternative spellings. It's a beautiful name; soft, delicate, sophisticated, but wouldn't use it.

I have never liked this name. It’s just… weird to me.
I’m not against mashup names and I can see why the characters in Twilight did it but it’s not for me. Esmée is beautiful and I would love to use that, and Renée is actually lovely. But Renesmee together is not my cup of tea. Fine on somebody else though.

It’s not ugly, unless you pronounce it like ren-ISE-may rather than ren-ez-may. I’ll give it that.
But, the association being Twilight makes it pretty stupid by default.
It’s also cloying. Like, can you imagine a teenager named Renesmee? An adult with a job? It sounds like a Mary Sue. There’s just too much to it.
Rene-Esmee is definitely prettier.

I'm a fan of Twilight but I never liked that name. It fits the girl because it's unique like her, but I don't take Bella as a family oriented person. Her daughter was named after her mother and MIL (Renee and Esmee). Some sentimental crap to make readers like Bella more. But it didn't work. The name is not as pretty as it's inspiration.
It kinda makes me shake my head. I mean, it's not terrible. It just misses the mark, for me. I like a lot of "smush" names, and don't object to them in principle, but to me Renesmee sounds stuttering, inelegant, like starting to say Renee and then changing your mind halfway through and saying Esmee instead. I feel a little disappointed in it. It's not creative *enough* - not proud enough of itself to pull off its smushiness with a sense of elegance.
I think hyphenating would have been more appealing: Rene-Esmee, with Renesmee as an informal contraction of Rene-Esmee, rather than the actual given name. If I were named Renesmee I would probably want to change my name to Rene-Esmee. Or even Esme-Renee ... which could be neat, I think I like it.
