[Opinions] Celeste
How do you guys feel about the name Celeste? I love the sound so much but I also have so many bad feelings about it. The only Celeste I’ve ever met was super annoying. She had no impact on my life, but she was such a drama queen. It would probably be one of my favorite names ever if it wasn’t for her. I have a lot of names like that unfortunately.I don’t really care that it rhymes with “molest”. There’s plenty of words that end in -est.What would you pair with it?

I, too, know someone quite.... annoying... with the name Celeste. I still love it as a middle name. The person may prevent me from actually using it though, since my husband also has a negative association with the same person. Oh well.

Very out of this world and pretty. I like Celestia better and Celesta less. Celestine is also a favorite.

Like it. But I won't use it for now because I will associate it heavily with my classmate, Celeste. She pronounces her name cheh-LEHS-teh, so I will pronounce Celeste like that too.

I love Celeste. I think it’s charming, beautiful and elegant with an ethereal quality.
It never occurred to me before you mentioned it about rhyming with molest, but it doesn’t change my opinion.I found it hard to pair as a first name.Celeste Everild
Celeste Marigold
Celeste Genevieve
Celeste Guinevere I do like the combo Kiara Celeste (although mismatched in style). Zoe Celeste is nice too. Miriam Celeste.

The meaning isn't attractive to me; it just isn't human. And the sound isn't anything special. I knew a Celeste once who hated her name with a white-hot passion, accused her parents of the worst kind of sentimentality and insisted on being called Sally! Which I like very much. In the Babar stories, his wife, the Queen of the Elephants, is Celeste, which is mildly amusing; when we were about 6, my friend's family got a kitten which she insisted had to be named Celeste because we were reading Babar and loving it; this happened, but it was usually just called Kitty.

I love Celeste. I can see why the molest thing might bother somebody else but it has sentiment to me and I would love to use it as a middle name someday. It’s heavenly, light, pretty, and generally familiar without being too common. My favorite is Isadora Celeste.

I love Celeste! The curious case of the Mary Celeste is one of my favourite spooky historical mysteries, so Celeste has a beautifully haunting quality to it, for me.Celeste Louise is how I might pair it, although I know it's not terribly imaginative.

I don't like the English (French-like?) pronunciation. The stressed -est ending is just kinda weird sounding. I'd be more enthused about Celeste with the last E softly pronounced (like "se-LES-tuh"), or about Celestia.Celeste Monique, maybe? Celeste Camille?
