Last week one of my cousins got married. Well, actually my second-cousin. Something that I still can't believe as I still remember when she was around 4! I'm feeling incredibly old right now. 😂 lol!Anyway, here were the names of some of the bridesmaids. Amelia
Ariel
Cheyenne
Aurora
Mikaila (Yes, this spelling)
Destiny (Cousin on her mother's side)
Hope (Sister of Destiny)
Althinia (Al-THEE-nee-uh, I believe)
Gabriella "Gabby" (Half-Sister)*~Rate my PNLs!~* NEW NAMES RECENTLY ADDED!

This is a pretty interesting group overall.Amelia - On its face, not objectionable. In fact most people seem to like it. I've just never been able to get over the "meal" part. It's... mealy-mouthed, quite literally.Ariel - Very nice name, though I'm admittedly more partial to the French spelling, Arielle.Cheyenne - I'm leery of using an actual indigenous tribe name as a personal name, as it seems more disrespectful than using one of their personal names while having no connection to the culture. A bit like naming your kid British or Moroccan (two names I've encountered in real life). Although at least in this case, there's a chance you could be named after Cheyenne, Wyoming, making it a place-name-as-personal-name thing (another trend I'm not terribly fond of).Aurora - I want to like this name. I want to like this name so badly. But the way I say it comes out hideous. It's all vowels and the letter R, and I trip over it.Mikaila - We're pretty much all in agreement on this one.Destiny - It's not my style, and it gets a lot of flack, but honestly there are plenty worse virtue names. It's not that bad.Hope - One of the most tolerable virtue names, not just in utility as a name but the definition. I'd more likely use it as a middle, though.Althinia - I'm guessing this is a family name and that they're from the South. I'm basing this on stats I found on the name Pernellia, somewhat obscure variant of a medieval name I'm fond of, Peronel. It's a variant used almost exclusively in Louisiana, and Althinia gives me the same vibes - like it's an elaboration of Althea. I kind of like it.Gabriella - This is lovely. Sadly, "Gabby" is not (it's one of my least favorite nicknames).

Amelia: Amelia is pretty, respectable, and strong. I like it enough even if I prefer Amélie.Ariel: It’s okay. I just think of the Little Mermaid. Cheyenne: Unfortunately I have bad associations with this name now even though the girl I knew spelt her name like Cheyanne, the sound itself is fine and I really don’t see the hate for it other than the Natives thing.Aurora: Nice name. I like the Dawn thing.Mikaila: Is quite pretty actually!Destiny: Meh. Not that bad. Also have bad associations with this name now.Hope: Yawn.Althinia: Complex. I kinda like it.Gabriella: Nice name, I like Gabriela too but dislike Gabby.

Amelia- nice, sort of vintage, but my opinion on it is sort of “meh” cuz it’s so popular
Ariel- I love Ariel but I just fell out of love with it a little. Idk why. Maybe the movie?
Cheyenne- I thought about adding it to my PNL, but eh. It’s kind of too 90s. But I do like its sound.
Aurora- one of my all time favorites, it’s kind of hard to find celestial names as adult sounding as Aurora
Mikaila- is she Russian? It looks Russian
Destiny- eh. I find it kind of tacky but I’ve heard it so much that it doesn’t feel that bad.
Hope- love it, but I can’t use. It’s unfortunate next to Destiny though. They sound like horse names.
Althinia- too messy and Athena would’ve been much better. Has the same vibes too.
Gabriella- Gabrielle is better tbh. Either way, it’s not bad at all, it’s just boring to me. There’s so many Gabbys at my school.

I see what you mean by Althinia. I would have preferred to see 'Athena' as well, or at least seen it spelled as 'Althenia' I think it looks much nicer that way. The first 'i' just completely messes it up. I also prefer Gabrielle over Gabriella, and no, Mikaila wasn't Russian. (Far as I could tell) Just another variant of 'Michaela' Like we need another one. LOL!
