My first name is Esther, though I have always gone by my middle name. I was born in the mid-80s and anytime a teacher called out "Esther" on the first day of school, my Jessica and Katie etc. classmates would dissolve into laughter. I myself think Esther is an ugly name. That said, I do think Esther would be easier to bear these days, now that "old lady" names are back in. Lily Anthea is a cool combo.
