I prefer Liliana over Juliana.

I love Juliana, but then again i'm bias cause my niece is just so adorable. We pronounce it the same and I think I prefer it over Liliana because there are a LOT of little Lily's running around. But I do suppose there are many Julia's now too. Either way I love them both!

I'm thrilled you posted this one. The Juliana vs. Liliana debate has been one have still have. (We are at 22 weeks. Going to have a girl.) I like the versitility of Liliana ("Lili" or "Lia" of "Jana" as potential nicknames. It is easy to say for a sibling (we have 3 year old.) However, Juliana is less popular and, to me, seems more classical. Ultimately, we decided not go with either name. However, my husband still likes Lilia (pronounced "Lee-leea") because is unsual and "Lia" as a nn is not as frilly. Good luck and hope that helped.

Well, I like Juliana, but Liliana doesn't really appeal to me. I'd much pick Juliana- but I like Julianne and Julienne even more.

I like the name--in fact, i was nearly named that. I think it sounds best pronounced 'Julie-ahna', and yees, i prefer it over Liliana

Juliana is very pretty. Yes, I might prefer it over Liliana. It just sounds slightly better for some reason.

This is on mine and dh list. I prefere this to Lilliana but that's only because it sound's better with my last name.

Unfortunately, Juliana and Liliana both come off to me as the epitome of nouveau-yuppie scum. I don't like either name at all.

ETA: What's odd is that I really like both Julianne (well, more Julanne) and Lilianne (pronunced as a combination of Lily and Anne, rather than soundalike to Lilian). I think it's the "ana" part that gives them the inherent snobbiness to me.

I love both the names Juliana and Liliana. I also pronounce Juliana as "Julie-ahna". I slightly prefer the name Juliana over Liliana for two different reasons. The first reason is because my rabbit is named Giuliana (I chose the Italian and Spanish spelling.) and while I was dating my ex we talked about marriage and names of future children. We had Liliana chosen for a girl's name.
