I love Teddy but I definitely wouldn't use Theodore to get this nn. I think Edward nn Teddy is adorably quaint but I don't think it works that well nowadays. I think Teddy on its own is ok but I do prefer legal names to be a bit less cutesy so I would go for Ted.
