Yup, that’s called synaesthesia and it’s quite common amongst namesnerds!
Mine are based on the first few letters, thus:

Wow I've never heard of synaesthesia before but have just googled it.
Looks like it is common in creative people & 4% of the population have it.
Also heightened intelligence apparently but is also a mental condition.
I do not get colours from numbers or letters but I do get colours with months of the year also.
