[Facts] Name update #113
A large batch of new names has been added to the site. This update includes...
- suggestions by the users of these message boards. Over 40 people nominated up to 500 names each! Clearly I could not get to them all, but the bulk of the new additions are from these suggestions.
- substantial corrections and additions to the Germanic names, plus better spellings for the Germanic name elements, more citations, and some proto forms.
- substantial corrections to the Old Persian names

Long-time lurker here, just made an account to say what an update this is! Really appreciate your efforts.
One small error that caught my eye were the six Germanic names beginning with Segi- and Welja-; it is believed that Early Proto-Germanic short E, when followed by I or J in the next syllable, would become I in Late Proto-Germanic, yielding the usually-reconstructed Sigi- and Wilja- spellings.
It's a bit of a nitpick, but I've been doing quite a lot of reading on Proto-Germanic lately and my name's William, so Welja-/Wiljahelmaz was the first place my eyes went! XD
Edit: Forgive me if this is the wrong place to mention this! I'm still very new here.

I can’t filter names by meaning anymore when including ancestral names… really missing the option. Am I the only one with this issue? Could it have anything to do with the update? Thanks for your hard work and adding all those lovely names though!
It was indeed broken when I updated. It should be working again now. Thanks for letting me know.
And thank you everyone else too for the kind words!

You accidentally linked the wrong updated names. But anyway, I'm honoured that Mardochaios is on the main name database. Thank you very much for all the work you do, Mike.
