King Gwydion and Queen Aikaterine live with their three daughters, the Crown Princess Adhara and Princesses Violetta and Callista, in the Royal Castle of Blackwood. When they realized they would never have a son, King Gwydion changed the law to allow his oldest daughter to become Queen upon his death. A girl has never ruled Blackwood before and all the citizens are suspicious of this law. However, Adhara is fairly well-liked and respected. She has been out in society at balls and assemblies since she was 15 years old, and finally last year she found a man she likes: Prince Cosimo of Cadwallader. It is apparent to everyone that they shall marry, but they are not engaged yet. Violetta is especially eager for her sister to marry so that she can be out in society herself.
