[Opinions] WDYTO Magenta?
I had a dream last night that I had a friend named Magenta. How useable is it? I can’t decide if I like or not.

You must have fallen asleep watching TV because I just saw a commercial for printer ink with Shaq crying out "Magenta" because he's low on ink.

Too Rocky Horror by far. It could shorten to Jen or Jenny, I suppose, and it's marginally better than Columbia. Seriously, I don't enjoy colour names, and this one is a colour name, a town, and a battle fought near the town! Not for me.

I can't get over that hard 'G'. Everything else about it is name-like and medieval sounding (like Jolenta).

There's a certain amount of alignment between the sounds in Magenta, and the sounds of a couple of words for anatomy. It's not glaring enough to make it unusable, but it's enough to make me not like it. Also the color is basically bright hot purplish pink - not the most subtle or elegant shade there is. Overall I get a "prostitute's pseudonym" vibe.

Magenta is like Fuschia for me. The odds of me actually using it are very slim, but it is so beautiful in what’s behind it. Total GP. It’s useable in the bearer makes it work. It’s not as familiar as Scarlet or Violet but not as annoying loud and obvious as Blue.

It's a GP for me. I would never use it on a person but I would totally use it on a pet at some point.

Nice as a colour, not as a name
