Prosper and Amaryllis are a young couple living in Cambria on the Water. Prosper is a boat builder, as was his father and grandfather. Amaryllis is well known locally for her cakes and pastries, and she is always called upon to bake the celebration cake at the annual Festival of Bounty. As custom dictated, Prosper and Amaryllis were bonded in their sixteenth year and passed through their Time of Bonding without incident. They were married once Amaryllis turned ninteen (which meant that Prosper was almost twenty, having been born early in the rainy season). Their first child, Keane Greenhill, was born a year and a half later. Their first daughter, Kalona, was born the following year. After that, four years passed until their thirdborn, Edric, arrived.
Now, two years later, Keane has started his academic studies. He loves swimming with the other boys, and is looking forward to his first sailing lesson with Prosper next year. Kalona is already picking up some of Amaryllis' skills in the kitchen, and she loves helping her mother cook. She rarely leaves her side. Edric is a happy toddler who is learning to swim and is probably the most proficient of the three kids for his age.
